What is the best way to compare the Circle Audio EVO 251 to the ELA M 251?
If you happen to have an original ELA M 251, please note that the output volume varies from mic to mic. However, the Circle Audio EVO 251 is extremely consistent. This is why you will set your preamp gain on your EVO 251 first. This will serve as your gain benchmark. Once you’ve set your EVO 251 on your preamp to the gain that gives you the level and sonics you are looking for, you are ready to dial in the ELA M. Match the gain of the ELA M on your mic preamp to your EVO 251 as closely as possible and prepare to be amazed!
Side note: For best (and most accurate) results, make sure you are using two channels of the exact same microphone preamp for continuity.
